Maronti Beach, the most beautiful and big in the island of Ischia, is located on the southern side of the island. A few steps from there is a bus stop that in 15 minutes connects the beach with Ischia Porto, the largest centre of the island. Along the beach, which stretches for nearly 1.5 kilometres, are the springs of Olmitello and Cavascura, already popular in Roman times for the property of their waters. At the western end there is the typical fishermen's village of Sant'Angelo, now a must for visitors to the island. The link with Sant'Angelo is made by boat-taxi or walking through a pleasant and scenic pedestrian path that takes about 40 minutes.
